For a CT challenge at ScrapShotz to use distressing on a project.

This layout shows my dad and nephew sporting mustaches that they grew for MOvember to raise awareness for men's health issues.

The patterned paper is from Echo Park.

Family Treasure - 2010

This ornament has been in our family for over 50 years. It's the first ornament that goes on my parent's tree every year.

I took the photo last Christmas and used the November ScrapShotz kit. 

Bubba Gump - 2009

Here is our friend sitting outside Bubba Gumps restaurant in Hawaii that was located just up the street from our resort. 

I used the September kit for this layout. 

ScrapShotz December kit reveal

This kit just BEGGED to be used with wedding photos, so I did two, plus a christening layout and some photos of Spain.

Grotto of the Virgin de la Pena

This layout was done for the November Layout Tag over at ScrapShotz.  All products used are Basic Grey - Out of Print, except for the bling and small alphas.

The photos were taken while we were on a side trip to Spain (the town of Mijas) while in Portugal in March, 2006.  It's taking me a while to get this trip scrapbooked.....

Fave Gift - 2002

This layout was done for a challenge to scrapbook about a favourite gift.  In 2002, the year I started collecting Tammy, my mom made me two outfits from the original Tammy pattern she had when I was a kid.  It was my favourite Christmas present that year!

I used the October Afternoon - Material Girl paper line for this layout - perfect, don't you think?

SSZ - November Kit Reveal

The ScrapShotz November kit has a Christmas theme so I did up four Christmas layouts, an organizer and 4 Christmas cards (not shown).

This first one is based on the sketch provided and the photo was taken in 1958 a few weeks after my little brother was born. 

This next photo was taken in 1960 (I think) and is the only photo of me (as a kid) sitting on Santa's lap.

Next, these photos were taken in 1981. Christmas was at my place with my parents and the first spent with DH. 

This last layout shows photos of last Christmas at my brother's place.

Happy Hour Crop - other challenges

Throughout the weekend, I completed 10 of the challenges (there were over 20).  I haven't posted the cards.

For the coaster challenge, I took two coasters, covered them with patterned paper and connected them with hinges. This will hold Alaina's yearly school picture (here she is in JK) that I can swap out every year.

For Wendy's "Chocolate Monkey" she wanted a layout with a monkey (or any other animal) on it.  I hadn't scrapped the photos of me meeting Curious George at Universal Studios, yet, so how perfect was THAT?

For the "Blackberry Sip" challenge, Jess wanted a layout or card that featured technology so I did a layout about my iPad that I love so much.  Check out those Angry Birds (my favourite game). 

ScrapShotz Happy Hour On-line Crop

This weekend was the ScrapShotz on-line crop and the theme was "Happy Hour".  All challenges had to be based on a bar drink.  Each DT member had to come up with a challenge for a layout and a non-layout.

My first challenge was a "Rusty Nail" which meant the participant had to come up with a card or layout using the colour rust and some metal.  Here is my example:

The photo is of our friend's cat, Rooni back in 2006. Doesn't she look like Marlon Brando from the movie "The Wild One"?

My 2nd non-layout challenge was for a drink called "White Christmas Dream" and I came up with this ornament.  Isn't it cute?

Misty - 2011

For a DT Challenge over at ScrapShotz to use a one word title.

These photos were taken at the campsite in New Hampshire this September. 

I used the October kit.

Escapee Cat - 2011

For a DT Challenge over at ScrapShotz to use clipart.

I used Fancy Pants - Happy Together line and a PageMaps sketch for this layout.  The clipart of the little white cat is from Microsoft Office.

This layout shows our cat, Cassie trying to escape out the camper window. 

Thanksgiving - 2011

This is the 2nd layout from the CTMH WOTG using the Dreamin Kit.

I was up at my parents over Thanksgiving this year and got to see my sister and her family as well.

Alaina - 2011

At my monthly CTMH WOTG, we did 2 layouts using the Dreamin kit.  This first layout is of my Great-Niece.  The first photo was taken on Thanksgiving weekend.  The other 2 photos are her JK photos taken in the fall of 2010 and spring of 2011.  She is definitely, a CUTIE PIE!

Recipe for Success - 2011

For a challenge over at ScrapShotz to do a layout with a recipe.  Since I don't cook, I thought I would do up a layout about my love of SupperWorks.

On the Road Again - 2011

For Wendy's CT challenge, she asked us to scraplift her layout.  So I made a companion page for the White Mountains (NH) layout since the mountains shown in the sideview mirror photo are of the same mountains.  Which meant I used the October kit as well.

ScrapShotz October Kit - 2011

Just before leaving for our vacation in September, ScrapShotz contacted me and asked if I would like to be on their Design Team full time (for a year)!  Of course I said YES!

So my first assignment was with the October kit and I have completed 4 layouts and 4 cards (not shown).

This layout was done at our first CTMH Workshop on Sunday. The WOTG is Sonama and perfect for these few b/w wedding photos.

Last Supper (Rome) - 2006

These photos were taken at the last meal we had with our tour group in Italy. The woman in the single photo was the singer in the restaurant - what a beautiful voice! These pages were done with the WOTG Kit - Bliss. I missed this workshop and have just completed them now.

Grand Turk - 2011

This layout was lifted from one on the October Afternoon website. The photos were taken just as we got off the ship at Grand Turk (except for the license plate).

Memories - 1969

I made this layout at a class at a crop in the spring but didn't have any photos for it. I wanted to use some music-related photos. Then I remembered the one photo I had of me (I'm on the left) and my girlfriend playing the guitar back in 1969. So I scanned the photo and made into two to fit the layout. It isn't the greatest photo, but the only one I have of me playing the guitar, a favourite pastime of mine in my teens.

Waimea Canyon - Kauai, Hawaii 2009

Based on a layout I saw in the Sept. CK magazine, here is the Waimea Canyon Lookout. It is also know as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific.

Everything used was old product from my stash except the real wood alphas (Plaid) stained with Distressing Ink (Tim Holtz).
