Why I hate Maraschino Cherries

For a Quizapalooza class at Big Picture Classes.  I only did one layout for this class. I was on vacation and sick.

Using a PageMaps sketch and done with Teresa Collins - Hello My Name Is...

When I was five (living in France) I got lost with the little boy in the picture with me. The nice people who found us took us to a place where they could call our dads. They fed us maraschino cherries and because of the stress plus eating too many cherries, I got sick on them and haven't been able to eat them since.

Treasure Album - MVP Award

I am NOT athletically inclined but I played particularly well during this one softball tournament weekend to win the female most-valuable-player award in 1981. This is the ONLY sports-type award I have ever won. I didn't have any photos of that event so included my ball team photo of that year.

Treasure Album - Tammy Doll

This is doll is a childhood favourite received for Christmas one year from my aunt and uncle (pictured in the small photo).  I found her again in 2002 but naked, so my mom made me the dress she is wearing from her original patterned (shown behind the doll).  I am now a Tammy doll collector because of this doll.

Treasure Album - Retirement Gift Album

When I was still working, there were a group us that would scrapbook together once a month after work in one of the meeting rooms.  This group put together a wonderful scrapbook for me as a retirement gift.  In it are photos of me at the recreational work events.  I received many retirement gifts but this was my absolute favourite one.

The small photo is of me receiving the gift and being embarrassed by one of the photos!

Treasure Album - Silver Jewellery

BPC Class - "For the Love of Things"
Hubby took a silver jewellery making course years ago and made me this brooch and matching earrings (his own design). The only other thing he made was something for his sister.

Treasure Album - Bobby Helmet

BPC Class - "For the Love of Things"

This Bobby Helmet reminds me of my good friend Wendy (her uncle gave this to me). Plus it reminds me of all the police officers we have (or had) in our family.

Treasure Album - Album from my Dad

BPC Class - "For the Love of Things"

Dad made me this album for my 50th birthday.

Treasure Album - I Love Elephants

BPC Class - "For the Love of Things"

My love of elephants is because of my favourite cartoon as a kid - Dr. Seuss's Horton Hatches an Egg.
