ScrapShotz Reveal

Because I was away for the ScrapShotz March kit reveal, I was asked to showcase another product line, Basic Grey Konnichiwa.  I have a confession to make.....when I first found out what product line I was getting, I was quite apprehensive.  It was NOT a line I would have bought for myself. I thought it was too pink and too "Japanese-themed" for me.  BUT, I kept an open mind and when I started working with it, I had no problems at all.  In fact after 11 projects (5 layouts and 6 cards) I had to STOP! I could have done more, but I need to save my scrappy mojo for the next kit.

So here are my 5 layouts that I did.  I won't post my cards in case one of you lucky readers are a recipient.....LOL!

Best Buds - 2012

Here we all are in Florida a few weeks ago visiting our friends (C&A) that live there with our other friends (B&Y) that live in Virginia.

Turning Four - 1959

My younger sister's 4th birthday party in France. She is in yellow and I am in bright blue. Note: the little boy in the striped shirt is the first boy I ever kissed.  I am still friends with the little girl in the grey sweater set.

Japanese Tammys - 2012

The little Japanese girl die-cut in this line reminded me of a Japanese doll. So I took photos of my Japanese Tammy dolls to use in a layout.  The Japanese Tammy dolls are very hard to obtain (since they were only available in Japan during the early 1960s) and are highly coveted by the Tammy collectors.  I only have the 3 shown (plus one other, not shown).

Krustyland - 2012

The Simpsons Ride in Universal Studios, only a few weeks ago.  It was lots of fun!

Finally on the Ship - 2011

This is me, having my first drink aboard our cruise ship.  We finally got on board after missing the boat for three days.....

Christmas Dinner - 2011

For a March layout tag at ScrapShotz.  I used the November kit.

There were only 4 of us for Christmas dinner this year.  My sister's family were all together (we saw them after dinner) and my brother's family were all away.

RIP Davy Jones - 2012

I was a HUGE fan of the Monkees when I was in my early teens and my favourite band member was Davy Jones.  So I was very saddened to hear of his passing only a few weeks ago.

So I did this layout up as a tribute to him and my fond memories of the band and their tv show.

All photos are downloaded from the internet.

Fab 40 - 1996

This project is based on SSZ DT Wendy's March challenge to do a layout based on a sketch from her layout.

This photo was taken in 1996 - we surprised the gal in the beige with a photo shoot for her 40th birthday.

All patterned paper, brads, rub-ons, stickers etc - BoBunny (Mamma-razzi), cardstock - Bazzill, film strip - Tim Holtz, fancy borders, small alphas - K&Company.

Published!

I haven't scrapped in a while...  We just got back from Florida and waiting for me was the new issue of Canadian Scrapbooker in which this layout was published.  What a THRILL!

If you see the magazine, it's on page 28.....

SSZ February kit reveal

Here are the four layouts I did for the ScrapShotz February kit reveal. I also did 3 cards (not shown). The kit consists mostly of Echo Park - Yours Truly papers in red, white, black, grey and pink.

This first one (based on the sketch) are photos of me and my two best friends when I lived in Montreal in 1967. I was fourteen years old.

Next is my beautiful sister on her wedding day back in 1980.  This is the first photo of their wedding I have ever scrapped!

This next layout features the Valentine's treat I made DH last year.

And here is the ONLY photo I have of my cousin's wedding where I was a bridesmaid - 2nd from the left (1968). I included the original wedding invitation as well.

Nephew and Nieces - 2011

Here are my handsome nephew and beautiful nieces in a layout done at the CTMH WOTG this past weekend.
