Cabelas 04 - page 2

Here is page 2 of the Cabela's layout featuring some of the stuffed animals found in the store. This layout is scraplifted from "JustJennifer" using the August 09 kit.

Cabelas - 2004

This was our first time at Cabelas (in Pennsylvania) - a huntin/fishin/manly-man kind of store that hubby gets the catalogue for. We came upon it accidentally when we had to take a detour on our way to Virginia with Mom and Dad. DH was VERY excited about going to this store. It is HUGE! Plus it has a mountain in the middle of the store about 2 stores high with all sorts of stuffed animals (real animals that have been taxidermied). There is also a hall of deer and a jungle animal area. Plus some tanks with live fish in it.
Another layout scraplifted from JustAnn (DT of JustCre8) and the August 09 kit.

Carol - 1980

I've always loved this picture of my sister, Carol taken in 1980. She looks so proud to be in uniform.

This layout was almost totally scraplifted from one done by "JustAnn" of the DT members of JustCre8 using the November 09 kit.

Cathy Retires - 09

Some more photos from this year!

This layout is scraplifted from "Just Ann" one of the DT members of the JustCre8 site, using the November 08 kit.

The journaling reads:

Cathy ******** celebrates her retirement with a dinner at her favourite restaurant, Biagio's. She was surrounded by friends, family and colleagues. There were some wonderful speeches and gifts as well as tears and laughter. She will be missed at work but is now starting the next phase of her life. January 09

Chateau Fontainebleau 1959

Here's a photo of my siblings and I sitting on a park bench reading (or in Carol's case, checking out a new scab on her knee) oblivious to the BEAUTIFUL view of the Chateau Fontainebleau (France) behind us. I'm so grateful that Dad took so many coloured photos when we were younger.

This layout is almost totally scraplifted from Sue's layout (on JustCre8) with some minor changes (the title and extra bling).
This layout is number EIGHTY for this year - I'm just a scrappin' FOOL!!!

Under the Tuscan Sun - 06

Another layout for my Italy album (will it ever be complete.....sigh.....) This was done for another ScrapLift challenge over at JustCre8. Enjoy!

All PP (patterned paper) is from K&Company (Blue Awning). The alphas are from 3 different companies.
The journaling reads: "Driving through the Tuscan hills of Italy on a beautiful, sunny day. We stopped at one point to look down at the American Cemetery"

Lip Synch - Dream Girls

Another layout for my Lip Synch Album. This one is based on Sketch 28 from 52sketches52weeks.com

These gals were the "backup singers" in all our acts but one. They worked VERY hard and came up with a different routine for each act.

This is a photo I took in Provincetown (Cape Cod) in 2005.

New Orleans - February 05

Here is a layout done using the last of the JustCre8 kits (boohoo) and sketch 32 from 52sketches.

Part of our trip to New Orleans/Memphis in February 2005. The journaling reads:

Beignets and the Blues...two of our favourite things in New Orleans.

Wink - June 09

I'm actually scrapping a photo from THIS year! LOL!

This is of my great-niece, Alaina. She is SUCH a character (and a little charmer). I had fun getting to know her when I was down visiting my parents for a week in June.
The patterned paper is by Autumn Leaves and was in a kit that I won from JustCre8. Also, the layout is based on Sketch 31 from 52sketches.

City of the Dead - New Orleans Feb. 05

These photos were taken at the St. Roch Cemetery in New Orleans in February of 2005 (6 months before Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans). Cemeteries in New Orleans are called "Cities of the Dead" and the journalling talks about these cemeteries in detail.

The layouts were inspired by an old Becky Higgins sketch using all paper, etc from my stash that has probably been around for a few years. It was good to use up some my old supplies.

Elvis Outfits - 2005

The last layout had me remembering our trip to New Orleans/Memphis, so I wanted to do some more Elvis/Graceland layouts. One of the 2 page 12x12 sketches found in this month's PageMaps was perfect for these pictures.

Elvis' Gravesite - 05

Another Scraplift challenge from JustCre8. I had a hard time with this one. BUT, its done and I'm ok with it. The blues aren't as bright as this IRL, it is more a deeper teal colour.
We visited Graceland in February of 2005 and this is Elvis' gravesite. This layout will eventually become part of an album about this trip to New Orleans and Memphis.

Pink Limo - 05

While we were staying at the Graceland RV Park (located across the street from Graceland, at the end of "Lonely Street" behind the "Heartbreak Hotel" - I kid you not), we went out for dinner one evening to a rib restaurant up the road. That had a complimentary shuttle service which we took advantage of. It was a PINK LIMOUSINE with a fake leopard skin interior - COOL!
This layout is based on one of the July 09 sketches for JustCre8.
